Discovering Many Trails of Inspiration

Recently, a few seemingly unrelated small events propelled me to start a new project that is personal yet community based. I've named it Discovering Many Trails Of Inspiration because that's exactly what it is.

I'm setting out to meet people who are putting back to the community and inspiring others with their passion and their work whatever that may be...thus many different Trails. I don't really know how this is going to pan out but I'm starting out small with my blog at http://trailsofinspiration.blogspot.com.

I'm looking for people to interview so if you're one of these inspirational people or if you know of such people, please contact me so I can let the world know in my own small way how following your heart leads you to places where you are not only happy and joyful in your life but also helping others through your inspiring actions of courage and compassion.

I'm most grateful for those knowing and unknowingly helped me start this, and I'm looking forward to meeting you and others from many different walks of life making a difference in the community and the world in this time of change and uncertainty.

We can all help making this world and life more beautiful, peaceful and meaningful.

Thank you all!

Namaste.

Hi YJ,

I just noticed your blog and felt inspired to comment. I like how you are tuned in to the little connections in your life and are following your heart. It takes a certain degree of self awareness and open mindedness to make that decision. You have a great message and, no pressure, but I'm curious to see where it will go. I suppose we often brush against folks who have done great things, although we never know it until we open up the dialogue.

Good luck on your journey and your search.

Wishing you peace,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your encouraging words. Truly I do not know where it's going to take me but I'm already having a ball! I've a few more people lined up to interview and just doing a bit of their background check is a lot of fun.

I'm also curious to find out.. Wherever it takes me, I'm pretty certain that it will be a lot of fun getting there. Even if it takes a lot of time, effort and some unseen challenges, I have a feeling it would be a journey worth taking. One of the things I keep in my mind, is to do things I want to do whenever I can so there will be less regrets later in life. Another thing is to know the true motive behind why I want to do something. Is it just to wet my own appetite? Is the sweetness/reward fleeting or fulfilling? Is the experience expansive in nature or exclusive? Am I enjoying it on someone else's expense? etc.. Not always easy to apply but practice makes it better, right?

Namaste.

Hey, those are some great questions. Can we ever know what the true motives are for anything we choose to do? How much of what we perceive and rely on to make these judgments is filtered and rearranged within the same mind we seek to understand?

What is the nature of the self? Is it the physical body, reacting like a machine, seeking that which brings pleasures and avoiding the things that we associate with pain? Perhaps it is some process of the mind, merely a fleeting, ever changing flicker of electricity dancing around our synapses? Or possibly an illusion used to give order to what would otherwise be chaos?

I think you have it right--living in the moment and learning to enjoy the process, releasing expectations for the outcome. We do this by following the heart, and listening to those feelings that are only there when we truly listen. It can take us somewhere that redefines our own sense of who we are. I'm not sure if practice ever really makes it better, but perhaps more comfortable. It is only when we move outside of what is comfortable to us and develop new comfort that we can find true change. Not easy, but can be rewarding.

Thanks for sharing this and good luck.

Paul, your discussion about the nature of the self reminds me of the yogic teaching... beyond the mind is the intellect.. but the boss of the intellect is the Consciousness.

Of course these are concepts in words that we use to make sense of something that is beyond description.. we get glimpses of Truth here and there.. we think we understand.. kinda sorta get it.. but the only way we can truly know is through experiencing it ourselves.. so many of us strive to make sense of it all and in the process, we start to know who we really are.. bits here and bits there and we start to put the pieces together and start seeing the "picture"...

I am really grateful for this New Voice Movement cuz it gives me a place where I can speak and feel safe.. no judgments..
